A father who struggled to find funding for his 13-year-old daughter’s heart surgery says he is very grateful to Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital.
Serupepeli Tuitoga, the father of 13-year-old Adi Emma Elena, who was diagnosed with congenital heart disease last year, said his family had struggled to find government and community funding for the operation of his daughter.
He adds that while traveling on horseback from the Namosi Highlands to Navua in a boat to come to the Children’s Heart Hospital, he wondered who would help him and his daughter.
Tuitoga says he looked forward to the day his daughter would have surgery.
The father says his family was looking for a source to sponsor Emma to travel overseas for her operation.
He adds that he was the headmaster of the school at Namosi and the school sent a check-up request to Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Cardiac Hospital last year.
He then received a reminder for an exam on the 19th of this month.
He says he is grateful to the Lord for their past and to the loving heart of Sai Sanjeevani Hospital for the sponsorship and to the team of surgeons from India, UK, Australia and USA. United for carrying out the operation.
Emma was discharged from hospital and also received gifts and a gift of life certificate.
