Centennial Heart in Parkridge has hired Matthew E. Wiisanen, MD, FACC, a certified and scholarship-trained interventional cardiologist and structural heart specialist. Dr Wiisanen will serve as the Medical Director of Interventional Cardiology and Structural Cardiology Programs at Parkridge Health System.

Wiisanen received a medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education at the Mayo Clinic. He completed advanced training at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where he received scholarships in cardiology and interventional cardiology. He subsequently completed additional advanced training in Peripheral Vascular Disease and Structural Cardiac Interventions, also from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Diseases, Vascular Interpretation, and Endovascular Medicine.
Prior to joining Centennial Heart at Parkridge, Dr Wiisanen was Director of Structural Heart Disease at Erlanger Health System and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee School of Chattanooga College of Medicine.
Dr. Wiisanen will see Centennial Heart patients in the Parkridge offices on the second floor of the Diagnostic Center, 2205 McCallie Ave. in Chattanooga.
